What I have to offer

After reading Dave Fleet's post on the 14 Key Skills & Attributes For A New Public Relations Professional here is my list of personal skills that I am confident in and a list of attributes I will learn in my last semester and a half of college.

My Strengths:

• Writing Skills: I have written many press releases and news articles and am comfortable with an AP stylebook
• Communication Skills
• Attention to Detail: I am very intuitive and always proofread
• Media Relations: I created a media packet for a client including a media list
• Pro-activeness: I enjoy learning, and if I do not know something, I take the initiative and figure it out. I like to look to the future and prepare for all scenarios
• Work Ethic: I have a strong work ethic from having to juggle many different obligations while being a student athlete
• Blogging: I am new to this area, thanks to my PR Admin teacher, and am learning the ropes
• Microblogging: I just started tweeting this summer, follow me at lyrjet.
• Social Networking Tools: facebook me at Lyric B
• Coding: I have taken a web page design course and am very familiar with basic HTML
• Social Media Ethics: The idea of ghost blogging "haunts" me, I think it gives people another reason to complain about the media

• SEO: If this means google I have it down, if it means electronic databases like Ebscohost...
• RSS & RSS Readers
• Blogger Relations

I look forward to updating this blog and moving every skill into my strengths section.
